Lodge me in thy chalet of obduracy.
Clutch me in thy clement downy nest.
I am thy steeple tower, thy lonely flight.
Thy tower of dexterity, my lightened night.
Thy loom and wide terrain, thy feign.
Thou art my lucidity, my exactitude in part
Behind this towering wall, my heart.
My window long and narrow, a bow doth fail
A bird doth stall.
And fiery arrows cannot breach our lay, my dove.
Thus if my note doth find thee on some wounded soil
This heart in the barley field hath none but lone untainted love.”
